Trent Rivers Trust appoints first full-time chief executive
The Trent Rivers Trust, a charity which works with businesses and other partners to protect and enhance rivers, streams and wetlands, has appointed Matt Easter as its new chief executive.
Easter has over 20 years’ experience working in environmental sustainability. Most recently Sustrans’ Midlands and East director he has considerable experience working and leading in the charitable sector.
The appointment of The Trent Rivers Trust’s first full time CEO reflects its recent growth and successes. In 2019 businesses including internationally-known names such as BASF plc and Ferrero were awarded ‘River-Friendly Business’ accreditation in its scheme helping companies work together to tackle water pollution.
Outgoing chief executive Chloe Palmer led the Trust for nearly eight years.
Easter said: “I am excited and privileged to be leading the work of The Trent Rivers Trust as its new CEO. It is a great opportunity for me to build on the excellent reputation and expertise of the Trust in improving the water quality and wider environment of the River Trent, its tributaries and the wider catchment area.
“The Trust has so many projects having real positive environmental impacts working with many committed partners and communities and I look forward to leading this work into the future.”
