East Midlands gourmet burger chain to create 80 jobs

Ohannes Burger's Long Row restaurant

A Nottingham-based burger brand is set to create around 80 jobs when it rolls out its regional expansion later this year.

Ohannes Burger, which already has two outlets in Nottingham, is set to open three more before the end of July as well as move to a larger distribution unit.

The gourmet burger chain recently added to its Arnold outlet with a new restaurant on Long Row in Nottingham city centre. A third, fourth and fifth on Mansfield Road, Bulwell and in Mansfield town centre will shortly be opening.

Owner Mehmet Ali Yazicioglu started the company in Turkey nearly 10 years ago. His firm will shortly be moving to a new HQ and distribution hub in the city.

Ali Yazicioglu also has plans to help with the response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

He said: “Since Covid-19 our group always thought: how can we all be more useful to our customers and public? We have found the way; we have decided to support NHS in a way that will help everyone. We will offer free surgical masks in our two already opened shops with each burger bought. Customers will be able to collect them with the burgers. Also, we would like to donate 5,000 surgical mask to NHS.”

Ohannes new city centre burger joint can seat up to 30 people. It has opened initially on a click and collect basis as well as delivery through UberEats.
