Deal advisory firm expands and rebrands

Matthew Lee

Nottingham- and Birmingham-based deal specialist Aardvark Advisory has expanded after adding corporate finance and tax services and changing its name.

The firm will now be known as Bespoke M&A, which it says reflects its change in strategy.

Aardvark Advisory was set up in 2019 by ex-Alantra corporate finance advisor Matthew Lee, who said the company’s initial focus was on financial modelling and vendor assist services. A number of white label corporate finance projects have already been performed by the business including a circa £40m sell-side. Clients have included many of the major mid-market private equity houses, FTSE 250 businesses, as well as privately owned SMEs.

Lee said “Many ‘specialist’ firms focus only on the selling aspect of deals, paying little attention to accounting rigour, modelling, tax etc. This means issues can be missed which can result in failed processes. Equally as bad, is that this approach can miss value adding items which limits deal value.”

He added: “From experience we have seen that the detail side of deals is often not done well, and it is often difficult to pick and choose the services that suit you – we have designed Bespoke M&A to overcome these problems and maximise value for our clients. To reflect the additional services and the growing team, we are rebranding to Bespoke M&A to ensure people think of the business as it is today and not what it was given how far we have come.”
