Jon Stockton

Whistl, the delivery management company in the UK, has hired Jon Stockton as director fulfilment and contact centres (south) to lead the Northampton, Rushden and Farnborough sites.

Stockton joins the company from FedEx, most recently holding the post of vice president ground operations UK. He had been with the company 26 years, joining TNT Express at the start of his management career.

Nick Wells, CEO at Whistl, said: “We are delighted that Jon has joined the team and congratulate Kevin on his promotion. Together with Noel they will continue to drive our growth and success in the fulfilment and contact centre markets. We are actively seeking additional capacity to service the growth of existing clients and our new e-commerce clients.”

The Orderly team

Orderly, a technology business based in Derby, with a focus on social responsibility and sustainability in the supply chain, is expanding its operations, with six additions to its team.

Three new starters joined the business prior to Christmas, who were all onboarded remotely. Now, the new year will see them welcome a further three additions, with a senior project manager, a developer and an apprentice joining the team.

In 2020, Orderly was revealed as the tech firm behind the heralded Morrisons food boxes platform, which the team built in just 6 days as part of a rapid response to the impending Covid-19 crisis.

It went on to secure a five-figure investment from Innovate UK which was part of a major competition to support UK registered businesses that “focused on the emerging or increasing needs of society and industries during and following the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Peter Evans, CEO of Orderly said: “The Covid-19 crisis has caused major disruption in supply chains but also a chance to reassess how things are done and that includes staffing requirements. We are working in a very specialist area that requires a unique skill set but we are finding that the pandemic has opened up access to talented people wherever they are based.”

Christian Watson and Pav Bains

Derbyshire and Northamptoshire scaffolding and drywall contractor, Phoenix Brickwork is expanding its UK reach with the appointment of several new team members.

Pav Bains, Jim Chandler, Wayne Addison, Neil Weston, Raj Bains and Steve Gates are joining Phoenix, with more appointments pending. Previously all had worked for Bedford based Irvine-Whitlock.

Christian Watson, managing director at Phoenix, welcomed the new appointments as the business looks to boost its £15 million turnover with expansion into London and the Home Counties.

She said: “Our reputation for high quality work, exemplary H&S compliance and solid client relationships has already established Phoenix as a strong player north of the Watford Gap.

“We are delighted to welcome such experience into the business with the addition of these key industry players and now have the perfect platform to handle projects in the Capital and beyond.”
