Notts driver recruitment and logistics firm plans national expansion

Driver recruitment and logistics company Route4 Solutions has moved into a unit treble the size of its existing premises.

The unit has now been officially opened by councillor Simon Robinson, leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council.

The company was founded in 2014 by owners and co-Directors Mike and Carol Harris to provide qualified drivers for haulage and logistics operations of all sizes. In 2018, it was one of 15 businesses to move into the newly built Colliers Business Park in Cotgrave, Nottingham.

Since moving to Cotgrave, the company has grown considerably and launched three new businesses. These include Route4 Logistics which offers a complete logistics solution for palletised deliveries, including same day deliveries, contract distribution and bespoke logistics solutions. Another recruitment consultancy called Fabric Recruitment which specialises in office based and customer facing roles for retail and industrial clients, and Little Bo-Tique, an online business selling baby and toddler accessories.

The move to a larger 2,500 sq ft unit on Colliers Business Park with ground floor warehouse space and office space on an upper floor mezzanine provides space for further expansion and enables all four businesses to operate under one roof. It will also enable the company to conduct candidate interviews and client meetings in private meeting rooms and provide professional facilities to conduct driver training and inductions.

The firm now says it hopes to open satellite offices across the UK, and Cotgrave will become the company headquarters due to its close proximity to major transport routes such as the A46 and A52.

Managing director Mike Harris said, “The last seven years has seen many highs and lows and we are grateful to everyone that has supported us on our journey. Each of our brands are at various stages of development and it was important that we relocated in order to convey a more professional image, create space to improve business operations and provide a workplace where we can collaborate more closely together as a team.”

Councillor Simon Robinson, leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council added, “The rationale for creating Colliers Business Park was based on enabling local businesses to access spaces that could expand in line with their growth. I am delighted that we have been able to provide Route4 Solutions with a larger unit as this demonstrates that our policy is meeting the needs of local businesses. It is also creating local wealth as well as employment opportunities which in turn avoids people commuting into the City and therefore reduces traffic congestion.”
