Plans revealed for mixed-use scheme next to university campus

How the scheme will look

Plans for a mixed-use scheme in the Radford area of Nottingham have been submitted to Nottingham City Council.

The scheme, on Salisbury Street, could be built on vacant land near the Nottingham University Jubilee Campus by Forest Estates Management.

The plans outline 15 family homes, eight private apartments and accommodation for 76 students – along with retail unit which could be used by a convenience store or newsagent.

A planning statement with the application reads: “[The scheme] will provide much-needed larger family housing within a mix of residential units, creating a modern. attractive, sustainable community on a vacant brownfield site, serviced by good regular public transport, close to the wide variety of city centre amenities and the university campus. For these reasons it is considered that the application should be approved.”

The scheme is being designed by Williams Architects.
