Indie retailer doubles space in Ilkeston

Henry George's new outlet

Ilkeston retailer Henry George Menswear has signed up for a 1,500 sq ft unit at The Albion Centre – nearly doubling its presence in the town.

The business relocated after two successful years of trading on Bath Street and takes up the vacated space of TUI.

Luke Slaney, director at Henry George Menswear, said: “We are delighted to become part of The Albion Centre shopping experience in our hometown. It’s the most populated area on our high street and being amongst big chains such as Sports Direct, B&M, Costa Coffee and more gives us increased footfall and exposure that we have never experienced before as a business.”

Operations manager Ashley Allen said: “Despite the current challenges within the retail industry in the last 18 plus months, we have been able to grow our business significantly and a major part of that was down to our Ilkeston branch so we felt we owed it to the town to find a bigger and better unit where we can offer a much wider range of brands and product.”
