People: Senior hire at architect; Software firm adds engineer

Architectural studio, InkDrawn has appointed a new senior architectural technologist following a series of project wins.
Nicola West, a Chartered Member of CIAT (Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologist), has joined the Leicester-based studio to implement technical delivery of the firm’s residential and commercial developments.
“I was fortunate that part of my role on the CIAT Education Committee was to undertake accreditation and validation visits to universities, so I got to interact first-hand with aspiring architecture students,” said West. “I believe that mentoring and learning are essential tools for success so I’m keen to not only help my new colleagues at InkDrawn, but also continue my own training. I’m actually just completing my On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (OCDEA) course which will enable me to become an accredited SAP assessor for new homes.”
Eleanor Miles
Intoware, the Nottingham-based software firm, has hired a new software engineer with the appointment of Eleanor Miles.
In her new role Miles will be part of Intoware’s core operations team, where she will help to build and deliver new product features for its digital work-instruction ‘tool’ WorkfloPlus, designed to empower the frontline workforce.
Miles joins Intoware from Specsavers where she was a financial analyst, as part of the company’s contracted services team, where she was responsible for analysing large amounts of data.
Intoware’s CEO, Keith Tilley, said: “We are delighted to welcome Eleanor to our team of software engineers. Our approach at Intoware is to become an extension of our clients’ team, helping them to meet the challenge of how to better streamline industrial processes, by replacing them with digital workflows that allow ‘real-time’ reporting, for smarter, connected working.
“These are exciting times for Intoware, with clients in the utility, rail transport, oil and manufacturing industries all focusing on how to either begin or extend their digital strategies, as the pandemic has spotlighted the value of connected technology. We help enterprises not only to digitise, but to make use of the analytics it provides so they can make better, data informed decisions to improve productivity and performance.”
