Insurance firm makes move to new city centre development

Great Central Square

Insurance broker Gallagher is to move a new office development in Leicester city centre.

The firm has signed up to the third floor of No1 Great Central Square.

The recently completed offices form part of the wider mixed use Great Central Square development, situated opposite Highcross fronting Vaughan Way.

The letting to Gallagher follows on from the recent announcement of the relocation of Europcar and its UK HQ to No1 Great Central Square.

M1 Agency and  APB (Leicester) acted on behalf of Charles Street Buildings to secure the letting.

Joseph Murphy, director at Charles Street Buildings, said: “We’re delighted that Gallagher will be relocating its Leicester office to No 1 Great Central Square, joining several other internationally-recognised brands on the Great Central Square development. At a time when high-quality office space is at a premium, Gallagher’s commitment to continuing its connection to Leicester city centre is a great show of confidence in the city as we begin to recover from the impact of the last eighteen months.”

Chris Noah, managing director of Gallagher’s Leicester office, said: “Our investment in this move to No1 Great Central Square represents our continued commitment to Leicester. Gallagher’s 65-strong Leicester team looks after insurance and risk management for a range of businesses in the city and the wider East Midlands region. After many years of consistent year-on-year growth, we wanted a new workspace that would help us build the next chapter of our success story. We are excited to be moving into our new home, which will provide a suitably impressive location for both our colleagues and clients as we continue to grow our operation in Leicester.”

Tom Gunn, head of real estate and facilities at Gallagher, said: “Following an extensive search, No1 Great Central Square was the unanimous choice for our new Leicester office, providing a modern, high-quality and attractively-designed workspace. We are pleased that we will be able to provide a variety of state-of-the-art meeting rooms and technology, including videoconferencing facilities to support our clients in-person and virtually, as well as breakout areas to aid collaboration among colleagues – all in the heart of the city centre.”

Gallagher was advised by Gerald Eve.
