People: Innes England; Sky Recruitment Solutions

Ben Brownlie

A former professional Rugby played has joined Innes England to train as a chartered surveyor.

Ben Brownlie will assist senior colleagues on a range of instructions while he looks to become fully qualified.

Brownlie, who joins the building consultancy team at the property agency, started playing for Nottingham Rugby Club whilst studying at Nottingham Trent University.

He has since worked as a party wall surveyor for the Behan Partnership in his home town of St Albans in Hertfordshire.

He said: “When Covid hit, the rugby club changed its model from full-time to part-time, so it was a case of having to find a job because playing rugby wasn’t going to be financially viable.

“Surveying was a career that I hadn’t really considered before but I’d bought a house in Nottingham with my partner in 2019 and I really enjoyed the whole process. That led to me looking at construction and property in terms of careers.”

Brownlie still plays semi-professionally for Cambridge RUFC in National League 1.

Mike Thorne, a director at Innes England, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Ben to our growing team which has been going from strength to strength in 2022.

“Ben will be supporting the team on a diverse range of tasks while he works towards his APC and we look forward to seeing his career flourish.”

Aleks Remplewicz

Sky Recruitment Solutions has appointed an experienced consultant to work at its newly-launched Nottingham office.

Aleks Remplewicz previously worked in recruitment for Reckitt Benckiser in Beeston, starting as a recruitment consultant before becoming an account manager responsible for around 500 temporary staff.

Craig Cheetham, who manages Sky’s Nottingham office, said: “Aleks has a lot of experience in recruitment, and finding people with that much experience in the industry is very difficult. So, for us, it was quite an easy decision to employ her.”
