Professional services firm promotes stalwart duo to key roles

Duncan and Toplis' new head of charities Niall Kingsley & head of property and construction Simon Shaw

Duncan & Toplis has promoted a pair of longstanding employees to key positions as it looks to expand its offering to construction and property companies, charities and not-for-profits.

The accountancy and business advisory firm has appointed Simon Shaw as head of property and construction and Niall Kingsley as head of charities.

The pair have spent a combined total of 43 years with the company.

Kingsley’s newly established position as head of charities will also involve work with not-for-profit organisations.

He said: “I’m thrilled to be accepting this new appointment at Duncan & Toplis. We work with over 100 charities across the East Midlands and this is an incredible opportunity to expand our offering.

“We want every charity and not-for-profit to not only maintain absolute compliance but also identify areas to drive growth and thrive with good governance.”

Shaw said that “clear, rising pressures” affecting the property and construction industries make the need for specialist support all the more pressing.

He added: “Our team understands the shifting challenges faced by the property and construction industry and we’re keen to meet the demand for highly commercial accountancy support and tax advice.”
