East Midlands Business Masters: ‘It’s all about the people’

The East Midlands Business Masters are back this Autumn to recognise and celebrate the region’s success stories from the past 12 months – with this year’s awards featuring four exciting new categories.

A shortlist will be announced over summer ahead of the winners being revealed as part of TheBusinessDesk.com’s annual East Midlands Business Masters dinner on Thursday October 13 at the Crowne Plaza in Nottingham.

We caught up with Stephanie Dennis from Finch Consulting, winners of the Professional Services award in 2021 and one of our sponsors this year, to find out where the company is headed next.

“It was brilliant to be named professional services champion. We were not expecting it at all, so we were very surprised to hear Finch’s name called out on the night. We were up against tough competition including well-known solicitors so felt very proud that we had been recognized for our hard work.

“What constitutes business success? As managing director Dom Barraclough loves to say… it’s all about the people!

“To have a successful business it’s all about having the right people to help you drive it forward and that’s exactly what we’re achieving at Finch. Everyone pulls together and acknowledges their own strengths.

“Since winning the Business Masters award, we’ve won another one! In March 2022, we won the Midlands Business Award for Professional Services (turnover £1m plus). We really felt that winning the Business Masters award helped elevate our profile and standing to win the second award, along with the great work of the Finch Community.

“We are actually sponsoring the Professional Services – Law Firm and Investment categories at this years Business Masters Awards.

“We are continuing to recruit great people and are always on the look out for like-minded individuals who want to contribute to a close-knit team and fill the capabilities we are looking for.

“We listen to the Communities ideas and have established two new companies. LEAPS and Tautus are sister companies to Finch who were bought to the table by members of the community who spotted a gap in their respective markets.

“2022 marks the year of our 30th Birthday and we have been busy planning our 30th birthday party in September, along with raising heaps of money for Burton and District Mind charity.

“Finch is aiming to become the leading, medium-sized risk management business serving clients everywhere.

“We’re continuing our recruitment drive and we’re on the look out for acquisitions of other businesses which will compliment ours.

“We continue to back our people to be the best they can be.”

The 2022 East Midlands Business Masters are sponsored by Arc Business Interiors, Finch Consulting, Morningside Phamaceuticals, Oxygen Enterprise Partners, Purpose Media and Ward.
