Housebuilder unveils new MD

Persimmon Homes East Midlands managing director Richard Gartside

Persimmon Homes East Midlands has appointed a new managing director.

Richard Gartside joins the housebuilder from Cortland, where he was part of the European senior leadership team and oversaw the delivery of the company’s UK portfolio.

At Persimmon he will be responsible for 120 people, overseeing all of the firm’s operations in the region.

Gartside, who has worked in the industry since 1994, said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining Persimmon Homes at a time when they have recently secured their 5 star quality rating. I am joining a great team and I look forward to continuing to grow the business in an area of great opportunity.”

He added: “My focus for the business is firmly on ensuring a positive experience for all customers, delivering beautifully designed and well-constructed homes they can enjoy living in for many years to come.

“Supporting customers is the cornerstone of our business, with everyone in the Persimmon East Midlands team working hard to achieve and maintain five-star customer satisfaction ratings.

“I want to forge relationships with new suppliers and contractors who can support our aim to develop high quality homes across the patch.

“I hope to continue our work with the local communities where we are building. We have previously supported hundreds of small charities, schools, sports clubs and voluntary groups through our Community Champions funding scheme, and we are always keen to connect with good causes that enhance the lives of local people.”

Persimmon’s regional divisional director Simon McDonald added: “Richard is known and well-respected throughout the industry and we are delighted to welcome him on board.”
