trentbarton boss on board as Business Masters keynote speaker

The managing director of one the region’s best-known bus companies has been revealed as the keynote speaker at next week’s East Midlands Business Masters Awards.

Jeff Counsell will share stories with a capacity crowd of 300 business leaders from his 50-year career at the glittering event, ahead of his much-deserved forthcoming retirement.

trentbarton and Kinchbus boss Counsell will call time on a near half-century career in the transport industry next February, with the firm’s commercial director Tom Morgan stepping into the newly created role of managing director (buses) for its parent company Wellglade.

Counsell began his career as 15-year-old engineering apprentice at Lancashire United Transport in the 1970s before joining trentbarton in 1999 as engineering director.

He became managing director of the iconic East Midlands firm in 2009.
