Boots to create 10,000 seasonal roles

Boots has pledged to create 10,000 temporary jobs this Christmas including up to 3,000 roles spread across its distribution centres in Beeston and Burton.

The Nottinghamshire-headquartered pharmacy giant says it is looking to appoint warehouse operatives and packers at the two sites ahead of the busy festive trading period.

Boots is also planning to appoint 6,500 Christmas customer assistants and 2,000 customer operations assistants across the UK.

New hires will be able to access an enhanced staff discount programme the firm has introduced to help with the cost of living.

Donna Hodgins, head of recruitment at Boots, said: “Team members who join our business over the festive period are always truly valued members of store and distribution centre teams, providing crucial support for our stores and customers alike. We’re looking to recruit a diverse range of team members that represent the communities we serve every year.

“Our roles are perfect opportunities for anyone looking to explore career paths in the retail industry to gain valuable work experience that could potentially lead to a permanent position in future. Provided you have a passion for customer service and being a team player, everyone is welcome at Boots – something that is evident in our range of recruitment accreditations, from Age Inclusive and Menopause Friendly to being a Disability Confident Employer.”

The company has already begun hiring for many of the roles.
