FHP and Inspired Villages are ready to rock at Hot Property

With only a few days to go until this year’s Nottingham Hot Property, we caught up with some more of our amazing new sponsors Emma Connelly, head of talent acquisition at retirement community operator Inspired Villages, and Mark Tomlinson, director at commercial property agent FHP – this year’s t-shirt sponsors, to find out how they are preparing for the big event.

Max Kwan from Inspired Villages

What are you most looking forward to about Hot Property 2022?

Mark: “Although we haven’t sponsored the event before, this is my 10th year personally attending and performing so, as always, I’m looking forward to the social side of the event more than anything. It’s a great networking opportunity and always nice to catch up with people in the industry.”

Emma: “After two years of Covid-19 lockdowns and restrictions, we are really looking forward to attending this year’s Hot Property as it gives us a great opportunity to catch up with our fellow operators in the construction industry. It will also be a fun way to support our colleague Max Kwan, who will be performing on stage, while helping raise funds for Footprints.”

What do you think of this year’s theme?

Mark: “I think it’s a brilliant choice as it will add an extra level of excitement, especially with The World Cup coming up soon!”

Emma: “It’s lovely to see a sport theme for the event. We care a lot about fitness and wellbeing at Inspired Villages; it’s central to the lifestyle we offer residents in our villages, and we always support colleagues who want to keep fit and get involved in sports. For example, we have the Inspired Villages football team, who played in the local power league just a few weeks ago.”

Why did you decide to sponsor this year’s Hot Property?

Mark: “Many members of the team always like to attend the event as it’s a time where we can get together with industry friends as well as meet new faces. We’re also familiar with Footprints and think it’s a wonderful charity, and so we’re delighted so be able to support them and the incredible work they’re doing.”

Emma: “My colleague Max is a Hot Property trustee, which is how we got introduced to the event. We decided to support it as a sponsor because building communities and giving back is at the heart of what we do at Inspired Villages. We also think that this event is a marvellous way of helping local charities while having lots of fun at the same time. We now have several Hot Property band members on our team, so we’re looking forward to supporting them and who knows, maybe we’ll attract some more musical talent to join our development and construction teams!”

How has the last year been?

Mark: “We’ve had a very good year – the property market has been extremely strong and we’re fortunate to be working with a loyal client base. Moving forward, we expect financial conditions to change slightly, which is a big reason to support local charities such as Footprints.”

Emma: “We turned five this summer and are really proud of how far we’ve come as a business in that time. We now have eight retirement living communities across the country, which are home to more than 1,000 residents. We also have an ambitious pipeline of contracted sites as we aim to reach our target of 34 retirement villages, including the UK’s first net zero carbon regulated energy retirement villages.

“We recognise that our success is down to the hard work and talent of our employees and so we were thrilled be recognised by Best Companies as a three-star world class outstanding best large company to work for and in the top 100 companies to work for too. We’ll be pushing for a top ten spot over the next couple of years.”

Alongside FHP and Inspired Villages, the sponsors for this year’s event include Pagabo and Pulse Consult as headline sponsors as well as Chord Consult, CPMG, DL Design Studio, Faithful+Gould, Overbury, Samclo, Selcon and Shakespeare Martineau. Joining these are PR agency Cartwright Communications, design agency RizkMcCayTribe, design and print agency Ginger Root, and the event’s media partner TheBusinessDesk.com.
