Leicestershire accountancy practice RWP has appointed a new partner.

Former Mazars, RSM UK and BDO man Bob Johnson will lead the business alongside existing partners Jason Whowell, Ian Agar and David Potter.

His appointment comes 20 years after the company relocated to its current base in Quorn.

Johnson said: “Now more than ever, business owners need a technology enabled, cost effective compliance service from their accountants and RWP are proven in that field over many years. With RWP having been an early adopter of cloud based accounting and related services they can now readily build on that solid foundation whilst enhancing advisory capabilities.

“The owners and managers of privately owned businesses need a range of advice, delivered in a very joined up way, and on a timely basis. That is where RWP will continue to be focused moving forwards, enabling our clients to make better business decisions, helping them through whatever challenges they face in the future.”

RWP has also appointed Suzanne Rowland as corporate tax manager and Richard Molloy as client account manager, while Waleed Zafar and Rachel Allin have joined as apprentices.

Jason Whowell, partner at RWP, said: “This is another important stage in the development of RWP as a firm with a long history, and an enviable position in our chosen market. Bob’s reputation is second to none in the East Midlands and we are delighted he has joined to help shape the next phase of our journey. He will provide further strength and breadth for the business, having gained exceptional experience with top ten firms previously, and as a respected adviser to privately owned businesses across all sectors.”

Whowell added: “The further appointment of two managers and two new trainee members with Suzanne, Richard, Waleed and Rachel provides the additional skills and resource required for us to grow further in the coming years.”
