Drinks distributor names former BrewDog man as director of international sales
Independent drinks distributor Global Brands has appointed Keith Beattie as its new director of international sales.
Beattie has held senior UK and international roles with industry heavy-hitters including BrewDog, Douglas Laing and Quintessential Brands. He re-joined Global Brands in 2019 and has now made the step up to executive level following a stint focusing on the firm’s £13.8m tonics, soft drinks and sodas brand Franklin & Sons.
In his new role, Beattie will continue to lead the Derbyshire company’s international sales business unit whilst presiding over its US subsidiary, which launched in 2020.
Global Brands’ burgeoning portfolio includes household names such as Franklin & Sons, VK, Hooch, LUSTRE, Shake Baby Shake, Corky’s and Amigos Tequila Beer.
Beattie said: “I’m focussed on driving Global Brands ambition to deliver more in terms of international sales across our portfolio across multiple markets.
“In particular, in North America with Franklin & Sons and in Asia with our Ready to Serve alcoholic ranges, there is huge opportunity and potential for us.
“I’m energised and humbled to take up the new role and lead the international channel into our next phase of growth.”
Julian Atkins, commercial director at Global Brands, said: “After just over 3 years back in the business, the time was right for Keith to join the executive team.
“He has built a really strong team and has led the growth strategy which will see our international business more than double over the next few years.”
Atkins added: “Franklin & Sons remains the biggest growth opportunity by far but our portfolio presents some very quick wins too and I know Keith is the right man to unlock them.”
