On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Shawbrook has appointed Sarah Woolf as the new senior regional development manager in its real estate team.
Woolf originally joined Shawbrook in 2012 as a business development manager, and in 2016 took on the role of head of sales. She left Shawbrook in 2019 to become a broker.
Woolf said: “Shawbrook is a fantastic place to work, and I am thrilled to have come full circle and be back with the team. My time as a broker has not only strengthened my knowledge of the market and the needs of clients but it also presented me with the opportunity to grow my contacts in the Midlands. This will be invaluable in my new role. I am very much looking forward to working with the sales team, all of whom are passionate about supporting brokers and their clients.
“It has been incredible to see the scale of growth since I left in 2019, and I am looking forward to playing my part in continuing, and accelerating Shawbrook’s growth.”
Matthew Taylor, national relationship manager at Shawbrook, said: “It’s a testimony to the culture of the business that having gained valuable experience as a broker, Sarah has chosen to return to Shawbrook, and we are delighted to have her back. Her extensive knowledge of both sides of the market makes her the perfect candidate and we look forward to seeing the growth she helps us to achieve in the future.”
Jim Creswell
Leicestershire based health and safety risk management firm, Finch Consulting, has appointed electrical engineer Jim Creswell.
With over 20 years’ of practical experience having previously been a military electrical and mechanical draughtsman, more recently focusing on functional safety systems for machinery, Creswell will be joining Finch as a senior consultant from his most recent role at Cyan Tec Systems, an automation and robotic solutions company.
He said; “Although I was not actively looking for another role, I was intrigued when an opportunity to work at Finch presented itself. The team of people at Finch speak the same [technical] language I do and are passionate about a whole range of engineering areas which were of interest to me.
“What really made me think that Finch was right for me was the diligence and attention taken to ensure that I was ‘a Finch person’. They took the time to get to know me and I met lots of friendly and welcoming people that make Finch unique.”
Andrew Millington, finance director, said: “Functional safety is a strong area of work for us, and we wanted to bolster our ranks to better serve our clients. Jim preformed excellently during his interviews, we were really impressed with his ability to communicate and keep calm in high pressure situations. We are always looking for ‘Finch people’ and we suggest taking a look at our careers page online as the best place to start.”
