The Nottingham office of accountancy firm UHY Hacker Young has made a raft of promotions.

In the accounts department, Stacey Harland has been promoted to senior manager. Over 18 years she has progressed from an apprentice, undertaking the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification, to now a qualified certified accountant with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

She said: “I embrace the challenges on all aspects of accounts at UHY, from compliance to advisory, and provide support to a vast range of businesses. We set ambitious strategies across our teams and I’m looking forward to driving growth with my fellow accounts specialists.”

Abi Moore, Matthew Hart and Oliver Wade have been promoted to manager, supervisor and senior respectively for their contributions to the audit team.

Moore said: “UHY has enabled me to continue to develop my expertise in audits over the past six years while also broadening my understanding of how we help clients prosper.

“Now fully committed to auditing, I am excited by the additional responsibility placed on me and my colleagues to ensure that audits are delivered on time to exceptional standards, and now being in the position to support junior colleagues with mentoring and their personal development programmes.”

Iain Wheat – who specialises in research and development, share options schemes and company restructures – and Hannah Kasem – resident expert in inheritance tax, trusts and estate planning – have been promoted to senior managers in the tax advisory team.

Kasem said: “I’m looking to build on our great work with further advisory support to a range of private and corporate clients, as well as helping to develop the tax advisory offering as business needs evolve.”

Ben Bates has also been promoted in the personal tax team to supervisor, rising in the ranks since completing a placement year at UHY in 2018.

Andrew Timms, managing partner at the Nottingham office of UHY Hacker Young, said: “All seven promotions celebrate the success we have experienced across our accounts, audit and tax teams, who are committed to solving the complex challenges that clients are navigating in their specialist sectors.

“These moves reflect our unwavering commitment to personal development that underpins our ambitious growth plans for the Nottingham office. The partners are excited to see what each promote can bring in their positions of higher seniority and we will continue to support their development needs in this next stage of their careers.”
