Three senior promotions for accountancy firm

Accountancy firm Mazars has appointed three new partners across its East Midlands offices.

The new partners include Andrew Hickson and Mark Surridge for Audit and Claire Cowen for Tax Advisory.

Andrew Hickson has served for owner managed businesses, private equity-backed groups and infrastructure asset holding entities. He also provides training to students in the UK and management teams in Central and Eastern Europe.

Mark Surridge is the sector leader for local government external audit at Mazars. He is ACCA and CIPFA qualified and advises clients in various sectors including local government, health, housing and higher education. In his role as partner he will focus on developing talent, delivering services and helping the advisory business grow.

Claire Cowen joined the firm in 2018 and advises clients on international tax issues, while also being the global tax lead for Mazars’ consumer sector proposition.

In addition to these promotions the East Midlands team welcomes 20 graduates and school leavers this month.

CEO, Phil Verity said: “Having strength and depth of expertise across our regional offices is integral to enabling us to deliver the highest standard of work for all of our clients. We’re therefore delighted to appoint partners in the East Midlands as well as several other locations. These appointments are testament to their expertise and the commitment they have shown to their clients and the firm. They should all be very proud of reaching this significant milestone.”
