Well Keen – Shakespeare Martineau ready to roll at Hot Property

With the event now just a couple of weeks away, we caught up with Nottingham Hot Property veteran Jenny Keen, planning director at Marrons, which is part of legal and professional services group Ampa alongside Shakespeare Martineau, about how preparations for this year’s event are going.
The big day is not far away – how are rehearsals going for your act?
They’re going well – we’ve really pushed ourselves with a tough song to sing this year, so we’ve had to work hard to get ready. The band have been amazing, and everyone has been as supportive as they usually are.
You’re a Hot Property regular – what makes you come back and perform year on year?
Once you’ve got the Hot Property bug, it’s really hard to shake it! It really is like one big family and there’s always such a great camaraderie among the singers, the musicians and the guys that help everything run smoothly.
This year in particular, the idea of performing is obviously closely linked with what Television Workshop does, so it really feels like you’re giving something back.
For someone that hasn’t been to watch Hot Property before, what can they expect on 2 November?
I think people who haven’t been to Hot Property before probably underestimate how much effort goes into it and subsequently how professional it all is. People turn up thinking they’re going to watch glorified karaoke, but they’re blown away on the night by how slick everything is and how well drilled the acts are.
Shakespeare Martineau has sponsored the event for four years now – what drives you to continue this invaluable support?
We always want to show our backing for such a huge event, but what is particularly resonant this year is that the values and ethos of the chosen charity closely align with ours. Television Workshop is about providing opportunities for talent and unlocking potential that may not have been realised otherwise, and that authenticity and bravery really meshes with how we like to do things.
The sponsors for this year’s event include Pagabo and Pulse Consult as headline sponsors as well as Pick Everard, Shakespeare Martineau, Overbury, CPMG, Pick Everard, Samclo, Inspired Villages, Selcon, Chord Consult and Faithful+Gould. Joining these are: PR agency Cartwright Communications, design agency RizkMcCayTribe, and the event’s media partner The Business Desk.
