Law firm adds corporate partner to its team
Shakespeare Martineau, the law firm, has added Daniel Banton, a corporate partner, to its team.
He will be based at the Leicester and Nottingham offices, but will also work with national clients.
With over 15 years of post-qualified experience, Banton returns to private practice after co-founding and developing a European litigation business over almost three years.
Previously, he spent over a decade at Howes Percival’s corporate team, progressing from solicitor to partner and ultimately leading the corporate, commercial, and banking department.
Specialising in corporate law, he provides counsel on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, reorganisations, and corporate finance to public and private companies, family businesses, individuals, and institutions.
His expertise extends to mid-market corporates, PLCs, litigation financing companies, OMBs, and education institutions.
Duncan James, Nottingham corporate partner at Shakespeare Martineau, said: “There is a lot of opportunity in the corporate market across the whole of the Midlands and beyond. We are delighted to welcome Daniel to the team, which is part of our continuing commitment to having a strong corporate presence in the Midlands and strengthens our offering in the region.
“With a wealth of experience, a strong local reputation and being an active member of the Midlands business community, Daniel’s appointment consolidates our commitment to providing clients with top quality consultancy from the very best legal minds the region has to offer.”
