Plans for student flats in former restaurant pass the taste test

Outline drawings of the scheme

A former Italian restaurant in Nottingham city centre is set to be turned into almost 50 student flats.

Man Mountain Estates has been given the go-ahead to redevelop a building perhaps most famously known as the former Antibo restaurant at 54-60 Lower Parliament Street into a new student scheme, made up of 46 one-bedroom apartments and 3 studio flats.

The premises was most recently home to Chez Coor on the ground floor, but has been derelict for some time and has been linked with anti-social behaviour and cannabis farming.

A further two floors will be added to the three-storey building, planning documents outline. A commercial unit and office space will be included on the ground floor.

The scheme is being designed by Nottingham firm Arc Design Studio.
