Well-known deals expert joins Leicester law firm

Howes Percival has appointed partner Gareth John to its East Midlands Corporate, Commercial and Banking (CCB) team.
John brings over 25 years’ experience of advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, disposals, group reorganisations and joint ventures. His clients have ranged from individual owner managers and management teams through to mid-market private equity houses and FTSE listed companies.
Howes Percival chairperson and Leicester partner, Geraint Davies, said: “Gareth is a very well-known and respected adviser in the Leicester area and the wider regional market and a perfect fit within our existing team, in terms of experience and seniority.
“We pride ourselves on being one of the go-to corporate law firms in the East Midlands and the level of expertise that Gareth brings reinforces our position in the market.
“2023/24 was an impressive year for us with record high deal volumes. We are now regularly advising on complex and high value transactions and are receiving more referrals from existing clients and other advisers. As a firm, we have outlined plans for further growth in the next two years and we will continue to bring on board quality lawyers like Gareth to help support our expanding teams and we’re confident that 2024/25 will continue to be a very busy year for us.”
The Leicester corporate team recently advised the shareholders of insurance broker Building and Land Guarantees Limited (BLG) on the sale to Nottingham based insurance broker, Russell Scanlan.
