A1 closed in Nottinghamshire after lorry fire
The A1 is closed southbound in Nottinghamshire this morning after a lorry fire blocked the carriageway.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service is at the scene, which is between the A634 at Blyth and A620 Ranby.
A statement said: “We are in attendance at a lorry fire on the A1. We are going to be dealing with this incident for some time.”
National Highways has published a diversion route:
Road users are advised to follow the Hollow Triangle diversion symbol on road signs
– Leave the A1 southbound at the A1M J34/A614 Blyth junction and at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A614 heading north east.
– Follow the A614 to the junction with the A638 just prior to Bawtry and turn right to join the A638 heading south.
– Continue on the A638 to the roundabout with the A620 at Retford and take the 5th exit to join the A620 heading west.
– Follow the A620 back to the A1 southbound at Ranby and rejoin the A1 to continue your journey.
