On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Leicestershire-based Melita POS, a provider of point-of-sale solutions, has announced the arrival of three new team members.

Andrew Cray joins the team as financial director, bringing with him experience as a Chartered Accountant.

With over 22 years in the industry, Cray specialises in accounts, audit and tax, with a focus on supporting growing SMEs.

Theresa Bhachu has joined as an account manager, bringing her extensive experience in client relations and project management from the POS industry.

In her new role, Bhachu will be focused on ensuring smooth communication, timely project delivery, and developing strong relationships with clients.

Her goal is to keep clients informed every step of the way, contributing to their success.

She said: “I’m excited to bring my experience to my new role here and continue building strong relationships with our clients. The team at Melita is incredibly welcoming, and the collaborative culture here makes it a fantastic place to work.”

Fiona Anthony joins the team as a 3D POS Designer. With a background in 3D design and interior architecture, Anthony will be responsible for creating innovative designs and supporting the production team with technical drawings.

She said: “Melita has been an amazing place to work—the management genuinely cares about your goals and wellbeing, and the creative freedom I’ve been given has been a blast. I’ve already learned so much and look forward to going to work every day.”

Melita POS has also recently invested £200,000 into improving its operations.

Over the past year, the company has focused on upgrading its website and enhancing its logistics and production capabilities with the introduction of new equipment, including a laser cutter and edge bander.

Law firm AG Corporate Law (AGCL) has reinforced its team with the appointments of corporate law executives Oreva Ojuh and Jamie Carrick.

Ojuh brings five years of experience in corporate and commercial law.

Originally from Nigeria, she qualified as a barrister and solicitor before moving to the UK two years ago.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Ambrose Alli University, Nigeria, and a master’s degree in international commercial Law from Nottingham Trent University.

Currently, she is working towards qualifying as a solicitor in England and Wales.

In her role, Ojuh will assist with corporate transactions, including reviewing key transaction documents, facilitating communication between parties and ensuring clients receive timely updates on their legal matters.

Jamie Carrick holds an LLB in Law, an LLM (Master of Laws), and has completed the Legal Practice Course (LPC).

Specialising in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), Carrick will support transactions from start to finish, including negotiating terms, conducting due diligence and drafting key legal documents such as share purchase agreements and shareholder agreements.

He said: “Every day presents a new challenge, and I appreciate the chance to engage directly with directors and gain invaluable insights. The training experience here is practical, and the team provides the perfect balance of independence and support.”

Adam Gilbert, managing director of AG Corporate Law said: “It’s been an exceptional couple of years trading for all of us at AGCL. We have surpassed our expectations, but we are now reaching a stage where we require additional internal support. With Oreva’s extensive experience and Jamie’s enthusiasm and sharp legal mind, they are both ideal additions to our team as we enter this next phase of growth.”

 

The UK immigration law firm OTB Legal, headquartered in Nottingham, has strengthened its personal immigration team with the appointment of Natasha Mitter.

Fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, Mitter launched her legal career by earning a Law Degree (LLB) from the City, University of London, followed by the completion of the Legal Practice Course (LPC) at BPP Law School in 2019.

With more than five years of experience in immigration law, she has been focused on assisting clients in navigating the complexities of the UK immigration system.
