Struggling vehicle repair company saved by motor group takeover

MotorServ UK

MotorServ UK, based in Solihull, has been acquired by Lincolnshire’s Dack Motor Group after struggling to navigate the ongoing challenges in the automotive market.

Dack Motor Group, led by Leo Dack, operates multiple sites across Lincoln, Northampton, and Coventry and plans to integrate MotorServ UK into their operations.

MotorServ will continue operating from its current location but will rebrand under its new ownership and founder Kamran Saleem will step down.

Saleem said: “This decision wasn’t easy, but safeguarding jobs and maintaining the high service levels for our customers has always been my priority. The challenges of the industry made independent operation increasingly difficult, and joining Dack Motor Group ensures stability and future growth, while also providing more career opportunities.”

MotorServ UK has encountered considerable challenges in recent years. In 2023, the used car market took a sharp downturn, and demand for car services dropped by as much as 45%.

Despite these setbacks, the company remained committed to offering services like the £15 no pass-no fee MOT, while also running community initiatives such as car crime prevention days and charity fundraisers.

With the acquisition, MotorServ UK gains enhanced support and stability, ensuring that its staff and customer service continue to thrive.
