Warehousing firm collapses – all jobs lost

A Leicester specialist in warehousing, pallet storage and order fulfilment has collapsed.

Anthony Collier and Simon Farr of FRP Advisory were appointed as joint administrators of Glenfield Storage Solutions on 9 April 2025.

The company, which operates a commercial storage facility, has ceased trading. According to administrators, the business had experienced “prolonged underutilisation of its facility” alongside rising costs. These factors rendered the company unprofitable and unable to continue operations.

The company’s employees have been retained by the joint administrators for a short period to assist with the return of customer stock currently stored at the premises. However, all 16 employees will be made redundant as a result of the closure. The joint administrators say they will support those affected with claims to the Redundancy Payments Service.

The joint administrators’ agents, Sanderson Weatherall, will oversee the sale of the company’s plant and machinery while arrangements are being made for the return of customer stock currently stored at the premises.

Collier, joint administrator and partner at FRP, said: “Glenfield Storage Solutions had been dealing with difficult trading conditions for some time, including reduced site occupancy and escalating cost pressures. Despite the best efforts of the directors to identify a viable solution, the business was no longer sustainable. Our focus now is on ensuring an orderly wind down of the company’s affairs and supporting employees and customers through the process.”
