Blueprint buys more Meadows land

Savills’ Nottingham development team has sold a 0.78 acre site in the Meadows area of the city to Nottingham-based regeneration specialists Blueprint.

The site, which formerly comprised the Trent Works buildings, has been sold with the benefit of outline planning consent for 15 two and three storey homes.

The purchase follows the sale of Blueprint’s Green Street phase one and two developments; both of which are situated diagonally opposite the former Trent Works site, and the follow up development, Hobart & Pitcairn, which is proving to be equally popular with homebuyers.

Ben Glover, development director at Savills Nottingham who led on the sale, said: “The Meadows is most definitely an up and coming part of Nottingham due to its excellent location and transport links. In our marketing initiative, we experienced newfound confidence from the residential development sector, resulting in a very high level of interest in the site.

“It comes as no surprise that Blueprint had a vested interest in this site following the success of the Green Street and Hobart & Pitcairn developments, which sold almost entirely off plan. They have put a lot of work into the scheme and I am very much looking forward to seeing the fruits of their labour, as I am sure many prospective buyers looking for convenient, green living are”.

The £18m Green Street and Hobart & Pitcairn housing developments comprise 134 two to four bed low energy town houses designed by Marsh Grochowski architects.

Nick Ebbs, chief Eexecutive of Blueprint, added: “This is a fantastic site.  We know the area well and have always believed it is a great place to live. Buying the Trent Works site enables us to provide more contemporary, low energy, design-focused homes and give another opportunity to purchasers who might have missed out on our other Meadows projects.

“We’re aiming to have a selection of 2,3 and 4 bedroom houses ranging from £165k to £300k available for sale in around twelve months’ time”.
