BHS names date for Derby store closure

Stricken retailer BHS is set to close a further 30 stores across the UK next week as hopes of a deal to rescue the company have all but died.

Derby’s BHS stores, along with those in Chesterfield and Mansfield, will close on Saturday 30 July.

BHS shut 20 stores last Saturday (20 July).

The firm tried to complete a CVA in March but failed and appointed administrators the following month.

Administrators acting for BHS announced at the start of June they had failed in their bid to find a buyer, with up to 11,000 workers set to be affected.

At the time Philip Duffy and Benjamin Wiles, managing directors of administrators Duff & Phelps confirmed there would be an orderly wind down of the BHS business.
