Noisily Festival event firm to triple turnover

EVENT company Bassline Productions – a key player in Leicestershire’s Noisily Festival – is on course to triple turnover this year after launching the business from its co-founder’s living room five years ago.
Since launching, the company has expanded rapidly, evolving from working with private parties and weddings to large scale festivals, such as Secret Garden Party, Found Festival and Noisily Festival of Music & Arts.
Co-founders and directors Charles Audley, Robbie Parry and Lachie Gordon, all music obsessive festival goers, say first-hand experience of pulling together all the elements of an entire festival production, has enabled them to grow Bassline Productions.
The early days of Bassline saw the entrepreneurs running the business from Parry’s living room, taking bookings for local nightclub events and weddings.
With a huge passion for music and events, the trio saw an opportunity in the market to put their experience and passion to good use, and deliver a festival exactly like one they would dream of attending, one that would offer an alternative to mainstream festival culture, delivering a more personal approach which represented both the music and the diverse demographic of people attending.
In the summer of 2012, Noisily Festival opened its gates for the first time. An intimate but aspirational festival and experience for the culturally curious.
The festival saw rising numbers year on year, attracting more than 3,000 festival goers this summer.
As Noisily continued to flourish, the Bassline realised that using their on the ground experience in creating and delivering a complete festival, could provide the opportunity to clearly define the company in the event industry, offering a unique selling point over any of their competitors in the market.
Audley said: “As we developed Noisily it was clear to us that the industry was lacking an event production company that could really relate to the stress and hassles that come with organising a festival from an inside track.
“There is so much to consider. From the audio equipment hire, through to deliveries and traffic management, security, and the entire customer experience, working with suppliers who understand all of that is invaluable.”
“We always planned to expand Bassline, and as Noisily started to grow it provided us with a platform to showcase our skills and develop our experience.
“An extremely steep yet enriching learning curve in festival production and overall event management, has allowed us to carry Bassline Productions into the national and international festival market as a sole provider of all equipment and event consultation.”
In 2014 Bassline had a cash injection from an early investor which allowed the business to expand on their stock to include, intelligent lighting, rigging, stage equipment and more, whilst also acquiring a much larger warehouse facility for additional storage and office space.
Its client portfolio has expanded, now seeing the company working with large national brands such as Bacardi, Diageo, Pol Roger and the Royal Academy of Arts.
“It’s been fantastic seeing the business grow so quickly,” Gordon said. “We genuinely have a passion for live events and we care about what our clients want to achieve. This, coupled with the fact Bassline Productions has the ability to manage all the technical requirements of a live event, rather than just one or two elements, is why the business is continuing to go from strength to strength.”
The future is looking bright at London-based Bassline Productions, with a large investment in new equipment planned for early 2017; a move to a new premises three times the size on the cards, and plans to hire at least two new project and production managers.
