On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Catherine McCannah

A wills and probate solicitor who started her career at Nottingham’s Nelsons Solicitors eleven years ago has risen through the ranks to be promoted to partner at the firm.

Catherine McCannah began her training contract at Nelsons in 2005, qualified in 2007 and was swiftly promoted to associate. She now takes on the role of partner, leading a team of five legal experts specialising in areas including the provision of inheritance tax advice, will drafting, powers of attorney, trust and estate administration and residential care fee planning.

McCannah said: “Having started my career as a trainee at Nelsons I have a real understanding of how the firm operates, its values and what it means to be a partner here. I have really enjoyed taking on new challenges and responsibilities, growing into various roles and broadening my areas of expertise throughout the last 11 years. That’s what gives me the great sense of achievement in having been promoted.

“The firm has always been extremely supportive of me and I’m delighted to now be leading a team of extremely talented, passionate and driven people in the firm’s Nottingham office to ensure that Nelsons continues to maintain its excellent reputation for providing wills and probate advice and support.”
