On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

The Leicester accountancy business Mark J Rees has welcomed five new trainee accountants at the start of their careers.

The five new joiners are: Louis Rowley, a former professional footballer who joined Leicester City from Manchester United’s academy; Kyle Hathaway-Reeves, who joins from his studies at Leicester’s Wyggeston & Queen Elizabeth I College; Nicolas Rojas, who was a biomedical student at the University of Manchester; Vishal Patel, who joins from another accountancy firm; and Hollie Cook, 22, who was previously at a contract catering business.

A Derby mortgage advisory firm has continued its expansion by adding two new advisors who boast a combined 50 years financial experience between them to its team.

Finance Advice Centre, based at the Prime Business Centre, Raynesway, has recruited Jonathan Hunting and Martin Hatton, bringing the number of advisors working with the centre to 33.

Hunting has 19 years’ previous experience in finance, including 14 years working in a variety of roles for Lloyds Bank and previous experience as a mortgage advisor for the Derbyshire Building Society.

Hatton can draw on 30 years’ worth of experience in financial services, including a number of years running his own independent financial advice practice.

Finance Advice Centre was founded by former Derbyshire cricket star Matt Cassar in 2014 and is currently in the middle of a rapid expansion programme, having recruited more than 25 advisors in the past 18 months.

Cassar said: “We are delighted to welcome Jonathan and Martin to Finance Advice Centre. They both bring with them a wealth of financial knowledge and experience which will prove to be invaluable in scouring the full breadth of the market to find the best deals for our customers.

“We are a rapidly growing company but we could not have achieved that growth without recruiting team members who are of the right calibre and who have a positive attitude. Both Martin and Jonathan fit the bill perfectly and I am sure their time at Finance Advice Centre will be a success.”
