This week’s Top 10 stories: Ilkeston boosted by jobs haul

As ever, this week saw the good news mixed with the bad.

However, it’s always heartening to see the good news prevail, and the week’s most popular story by quite a margin was the tale of Energy Save which is set to move to Ilkeston and create 160 call jobs in the town – which is a huge boost.

Second favourite was the news that Pera Consulting is closing down. The Pera group of companies have been hit hard by government cuts to business support and Pera Consulting went down with the loss of 45 jobs. Our thoughts are with all concerned.

In third place was the exciting plans by Monk Estates to build a huge 85 apartment scheme on derelict land next to the London Road roundabout on the edge of the Lace Market. Monk Estates are big investors in Nottingham – let’s hope this one gets off the ground too.
