YourNews: Issues surrounding dismissals to be addressed at seminar

Dismissing staff can be a tricky process for many companies so advice is on hand at the next breakfast seminar from Nottingham-based law firm Cleggs Solicitors.

The event will take place at 8.15am on Wednesday 1 February at the Riverbank Bar & Kitchen, Trent Bridge, West Bridgford.

Jayne Harrison, director and head of employment law at Cleggs Solicitors, said: “Dismissals can be difficult which is why this seminar will touch on delicate topics such as whether you can rely on previous warnings and what could happen if you do not follow your own disciplinary procedure.”

The seminar will also discuss the ACAS Code of Practice and Guidance and the interplay between grievances and disciplinaries.

Jayne added: “Many people overlook the smaller details of the process such as the importance of note taking. In the seminar, we hope to cover all aspects of this potentially uncomfortable topic.”

Parking is available at the venue (postcode NG2 2GS) and the event is scheduled to finish at around 10am.

To book a place on the seminar, contact Jayne at jayneh@cleggssolicitors.com with details of your name, organisation and email address. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
