Kings Park housing scheme starts on site

Rayner Davies Architects and Peter James Homes have started work on their Kings Park residential project in Bestwood Village Nottingham.

Some 48 two, three and four bedrooms houses are being built on the site of a former   day centre which was demolished on 2012.  The scheme is a redevelopment of a long-term vacant brownfield site and will provide an attractive scheme of family housing in this part of the city, whilst improving the look and feel of the area.  William H Brown is marketing the new homes.

The site is sandwiched between Bestwood Country Park and Leen Valley Country Park, approximately 6 miles north of Nottingham City Centre. It is an established residential area characterised by a mix of post war and new build properties.

The form and scale of all house types are based on the local vernacular pre and post-war suburban two storey dwellings, with pitched roofs at 35°. The houses are simple forms with projecting eaves and verges. Variation is provided to the streetscape by the natural level changes, the mix in forms and the material pallet.
