Sequins and Christmas jumpers are in as Sosander reports revenue growth

Sosandar, the online women’s fashion brand, has enjoyed a record first half as women ditch loungewear for office and party outfits.

The retailer revealed revenues for the six months to 30 September had increased 184% to £12.2m with September being a record revenue month with demand accelerating for new season autumnal products.

It said trading with third parties including M&S, Next and John Lewis stepped up every month with its products “resonating very well” across all product categories.

Sosander has seen demand for a wide variety of products including knitwear, dresses, leather, coats and denim.

It said the “successful expansion” of its range, which has been the focus over the last two years, is driving increased conversion and repeat order rates, it said.

Early autumn sales “have been very strong” as demand for ‘going out’ and work wear has increased.

The company took the decision to bring in stock early for autumn, anticipating early demand for partywear, coats, boots and knitwear.

Sequins, Christmas jumpers and fur coats are already best sellers, it said.

Sosandar said it has not experienced any material impact from supply chain disruption and has been able to maintain a constant flow of stock to meet customer demand.

It said it was well stocked for the autumn season across both its own site and third parties.

During the six month period website visits were up 67% to over six million and repeat buyer order frequency up 14% to 3.85 times.

The Board expects results for the full year to be in line with market expectations.
