Selfridges plans £20m expansion

SELFRIDGES has announced a £20m expansion at its shop in central Manchester.
The store’s four floors and glass facade are to be remodelled to provide additional floor space and more natural light.
The beauty department will be moved to the lower ground floor, creating space for luxury accessories on the ground floor and the fashion floors will be refurbished.
Selfridges said the change was its largest single investment in any of its regional stores which include the Trafford Centre and Birmingham Bullring.
The 126,000 sq ft store in Exchange Square opened in 2002 and employs 250 people with an additional 250 working in its concessions.

We are investing in the store to ensure we provide the most outstanding entertainment for all our customers.”
