Everton nets Japanese mobile deal

EVERTON Football Club has signed a mobile phone deal in Japan  to sell content to its emerging fan base.

The ‘lucrative’ contract with Japanese mobile content provider CWS Brains, will enable fans to download Everton news, ringtones, wallpapers, screensavers and videos of their favourite players straight to their mobile devices.

The CWS Brains ‘Soccer Membership’ is a highly successful subscription based-service. Premier League rivvaks Arsenal and Manchester United are already partners.

Mark Rowan, head of media and communications at Everton, said: “The Everton fan base is going from strength to strength across Asia and we hope to reach as many supporters as possible using a range of media platforms.

“Mobile media is evolving at quite a pace and this deal demonstrates how we are communicating and engaging with Everton fans across the globe.”

Everton already has a high profile in Thailand, thanks to its sponsorship by brewer chang, while it has medua agreementswith companies in India and China.
