Incom dials up growth plan

A NORTH West business telecoms company is looking to buy up rivals to boost its growth plans.

Incom Business Systems of Manchester is set to see turnover surge from £3.7m to more than £5m this year after winning a number of new contracts.

It whetted its appetite for acquisitions with the swoop last year for Yorkshire-based Worth Communications.

Incom, which employs 36,  provides businesses with everything from fixed line and mobile telephone systems to integrated voice and data solutions.

Customers include Britannia Hotels, British Transport Police and many Volkswagen, Audi and Toyota car dealerships. Most recently it has won a significant contract with Harley Medical Group among others.

Incom was acquired by joint managing directors David Hughes and Jason Kilvert in 2004.  Mr Hughes joined the company as a junior salesman in 1989, while Mr Kilvert joined as a stores man in 1993.

Mr Hughes said: “Worth has been fully integrated and we are now looking at further acquisitions in a market that is ripe for consolidation”.

“Our strategy is to grow through acquisition and organically by securing further blue chip customers. We are passionate about doing business ethically, which has been at the heart of our longevity in an ultra-competitive market.”

Incom is being advised on its acquisition and growth strategy by Manchester law firm Pannone. Kay Kennedy, head of entrepreneurial services said: “Incom has a very exciting future in a buoyant sector that present a number of acquisition opportunities.

“We are helping the team fulfil its growth strategy which is immensely rewarding given their ambition and determination.”
