Mechan and ANS chiefs shortlisted for PLUS awards

WILF Boardman of Skelmersdale engineering firm Mechan Controls and Scott Fletcher of Manchester software firm ANS Group have both made the shortlist for a Chairman of the Year prize by the firm that runs the PLUS stock exchange.
Both men have appeared on a five-strong shortlist of business leaders for PLUS’s Chairman/CEO of the Year, while ANS Group has also been shortlisted for Transaction of the year following its takeover of Alpha Business Computers and for best corporate communications programme.
The awards will take place next Thursday, May 12 in London.
Jonathan Pearce, chairman of the PLUS Awards 2011 judging panel and a partner at law firm Marriott Harrison, said: “The shortlisted companies have made significant strides in the past year in spite of the difficult market conditions for smaller companies.
“We’re pleased to be able to recognise their achievements with these awards, and wish them continued success in 2011 and beyond.”
