Tangerine gets juiced-up

MANCHESTER public relations firm Tangerine PR has acquired Juice Digital. 

Stockport-based Juice, a social media specialist led by Steve Downes, will become a division of Tangerine and keep its name. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

Sandy Lindsay, Tangerine’s group managing director, said the deal would give the firm greater depth and experience.

“[The deal has] added extra ‘grey hair’ in the form of the extremely experienced and well-respected Steve Downes to our senior management team,” she said.

“We have spotted an increasing trend whereby companies have expressed an interest in purchasing the services of a specialist social media team, over and above other PR and marketing services… Juice Digital, as well as supporting other client offers, will enable us to capitalise on this trend,” added Ms Lindsay.

Steve Downes said: “We’ve been talking to some of the UK’s leading brands about social media and there is no doubt this is both an exciting and lucrative opportunity.”

The Juice Digital team will join Tangerine at its Castlefield office this month.
