Heavy rain and flooding causing traffic problems across South Manchester

Heavy overnight rain has led to major delays on roads across South Manchester this morning.
Two lanes have been shut on Princess Parkway heading into Manchester near to the Britannia Junction on Wythenshawe Road, due to floodwater.
The #M56 eastbound link to the #A5103 Princess Parkway at #J3A (#Altrincham #Wythenshawe) 2 lanes have been closed due to flooding in the carriageway. Maintenance Crew are on scene.

And drivers on the M56 are being warned to expect delays.
There are also reports of surface water on the M60 at Barton Bridge, anticlockwise, between junction 11 for Liverpool Road and junction 10 for the Trafford Centre.
There are 30 minute delays on the approach to this #A5103 incident (above usual journey times) spanning 8 miles back to J8. Average speeds on the approach to J3 are 15 mph.

North West Motorway Police have said they are dealing with four collisions on the M60 this morning.
Accidents have taken place near to junction 21, 19, 18 and 20.
