Harley Davidson dealer’s assets on the blocks

THE assets of a Manchester Harley-Davidson dealership are to go under the hammer next week as part of one of the largest distressed sales of Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
Manchester Harley-Davidson in Stockport, along with Leeds Harley-Davidson and St Leger Harley-Davidson in Doncaster, were all part of Summer Retail which went into administration last month.
Administrators the P&A Partnership have appointed international asset consultants Charterfields to sell the company’s assets.
The auction will run alongside a heavily discounted retail sale and will take place on September 3 at the St Leger dealership.
It is expected to attract interest from Harley-Davidson enthusiasts from the UK and Europe.
It will feature around 40 used motorcycles including Harley-Davidsons and Japanese and English bikes, clothing and accessories with a cost value of approximately £560,000 and memorabilia and items from film sets.
There will also be a full range of tooling and workshop equipment from the three dealerships.
Robert Edwards, associate director with Charterfields, said: “We believe this to be the biggest ever distressed sale of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and accessories.
“It’s a unique opportunity to acquire products from this iconic brand and items of memorabilia that would not normally come up for sale by public auction. We expect it will attract interest from Harley-Davidson enthusiasts in Europe and beyond.”
