RAP Spiderweb captures Pearson Print

AN OLDHAM-based printing business has acquired a Tameside-based rival from administration, saving four jobs.
RAP Spiderweb, a full colour lithographical and digital printing business based in Hollinwood, has bought Hyde-based Pearson Print for an undisclosed sum as part of a pre-pack deal.
Administrators were appointed at Pearson Print as the company struggled to keep up with bank payments on a new printing press.
As well as acquiring the printing press and other machinery, RAP Spiderwb will relocate Pearson Print’s two founding directors and two other employees to its Oldham base.
Anna Vinton, managing director of RAP Spiderweb, said: “This deal has allowed us to bring in additional expertise and resources while saving four jobs. This increased capacity will be invaluable in winning new business and continuing to provide an excellent service to our customers.”
RAP Spiderweb, based in Hollinwood, has been in business for over 30 years and specialises in printing for magazines, newsletters, reports, posters, leaflets and stationery.
Blackburn-based law firm Garricks and Rossendale-based accountancy firm Cassons provided advice to RAP Spiderweb on the deal.
