EnTech wins industry award for energy-saving technology

A NORTH WEST construction services company has scooped an award for the pioneering energy-saving technology it is installing in MediaCity:UK.

Stockport-based IBT Group’s subsidiary EnTech – which stands for Environmental Technologies – won the award for project of the year at the KNX Association’s AGM.

The KNX Association is a partnership of UK manufacturers, integrators and training establishments which works to promote high standards.

KNX – which has major environmental and cost benefits for users – automatically controls heating, lighting and other building functions.

EnTech won the contract from NG Bailey to install KNX in three buildings in phase one of Peel Holdings’s £500m Salford-based MediaCity:UK development.

The installation will allow the BBC full control over the lighting throughout its three buildings.
