New chairman for Surface Transforms

SURFACE Transforms, the Ellesmere Port-based manufacturer of carbon fibre reinforced materials, has appointed David Bundred as chairman.
Kevin D’Silva, the former chairman, will continue in the role of non executive director.
Until 1999 Bundred was at the Lucas Group, with positions as general manager of the Lucas Brake Controls and Lucas Truck Brake Divisions and then chief operating officer of the worldwide business of Lucas Aerospace.
Between 2003 and 2005 he was chief executive of TMD Friction Group, a large private German industrial group, which supplies brake pad systems for the automotive industry.
Since 2005 he has invested in a portfolio of high technology, private companies, for several of which he has provided an active role in guiding the business and mentoring the management team.
“Mr Bundred brings with him a wealth of industrial experience at senior management levels in the UK, Germany and the US,” the company said in its stock market announcement.
The company also announced that Dr Geoff Gould and one of the company’s founders, Professor David Clark, are both retiring as directors.
