Hurst wins not-for-profit brief

ACCOUNTANCY firm Hurst has picked up a new client in the not-for-profit sector.
It has been appointed by Bolton-based health insurance provider UK Healthcare to advise on its growth plans.
Formerly known as Bolton & District Hospital Saturday Council, UK Healthcare provides health cash plans.
Set up 198 years ago the organisation provides regular charity donations from the surplus it generates. It was set up in 1813 when the residents of Great and Little Bolton organised a public collection to raise money for a seven -bed dispensary.
Helen Besant-Roberts, who leads the Hurst team which advises charities and not-for-profit businesses said: “We work with a number of the region’s best known not-for-profit organisations and this is a fantastic addition to our portfolio.
“It’s unusual to see a financial services business whose main aim is to generate funds for worthy causes; such a philanthropic ethos without being a registered charity is rare. We are keen to support UK Healthcare’s ideas, challenge them and realise objectives.”
Hurst’s head office is in Stockport and it also has operations in Manchester city centre and London.
