Princes’ European growth drive stepped up

NORTH West food and drink group Princes, has opened an new office in Poland to drive its expansion into mainland Europe.

The group – which last year grew sales from £946m to £1.08bn – said Princes Polska, based in the capital Warsaw, will deliver sales, marketing and category management expertise to strengthen Princes’ support for retail and wholesale customers in the region.

Princes, which has its headquarters in Liverpool and is owned by Japanese conglomerate the Mitsubishi Corp, is behind a number of leading food brands including Napolina Italian food, Vier , Crisp ‘n Dry cooking oil, and  Aqua-Pura natural mineral water.

The Polish office will report to the company’s established European headquarters in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Ken Critchley, managing director of Princes, said: “Princes is targeting growth in mainland European retail, wholesale and food manufacturing markets. 

“Our strategy is to expand through partnerships, joint ventures and selective strategic acquisitions.  Princes Polska gives us a strong platform in the region and will work closely with our European customers.”
